THE HISTORY AND BEGINNINGS
                              OF
END TIMES LIKE THESE MINISTRIES

Elder Michael J. Johnson is a native of Birmingham, Alabama.  As a lay evangelist, God began Elder Johnson’s ministry at the Normandie Ave. Seventh-day Adventist Church in Los Angeles, California where he began writing and teaching a series of Bible studies entitled, End Times Like These.  By the grace of God over 90 subjects were produced.
In 1992 Elder Johnson obtained his Bible Instructors and Lay Evangelist credentials from Griggs University. One Sabbath morning, during an appeal, after a powerful sermon given by James Lee Jr. the Senior Pastor, eight people responded to the message and came forth for baptism.  Acknowledging the overload of current Bible studies being administered by the church Bible worker Sister Vivian Boyce now retired, Elder Johnson asked her if she’d be able to handle the extra load of Bible studies.  She replied that she would do the best that she could in handling the extra studies.   He shared with Sister Boyce the idea of training a team of lay Bible instructors to help her in giving Bible studies and preparing individuals for baptism.

Sister Boyce shared that she could not take on such a task at the time, but shared that he should consider the task. Therefore He committed himself to help Sister Boyce in giving Bible studies but realized that it was very hard to keep up with the average of three and sometimes four Bible studies per week and realized that it would be more productive to train 100 Lay evangelists and Bible instructors to win souls than to try to study with 100 souls himself.

In 1995 the Lord directed him to take the ministry of evangelism to another level.  Elder Johnson conducted several workshops for Lay evangelist and Bible instructors for several churches in the Southern California Conference graduating over 200 students.

In February 2002 Elder Michael Johnson and his wife Denise joined together in marriage, and as a team together they have founded the End Times Like These Ministries Inc., non-profit 501c3 organization.

To date this ministry has successfully trained several churches in the Pacific Union Conference to be effective Evangelism Centers.  From 2005 - 2008 the ministry has conducted nine 7-week Lay Evangelists/Bible Instructors Certification Training Seminars throughout the Southern California Conference.  A total of 176 new Lay evangelists and Bible instructors have emerged in fervent fruitful soul winning.   There are numerous baptisms reported from the training of the laymen from 2005 to present totaling 431.   Since 1992 347 Evangelist have been trained winning souls to Christ.

End Times Like These Ministries also operates a mail correspondence course for Lay evangelists.  This ministry also conducts medical missionary training seminars.  End Times Like These Ministries is not just a training ministry. This is a ministry that does what it trains others to do.  Elder Michael Johnson has conducted and assisted in several evangelistic campaigns, Daniel & Revelation seminars and tent meetings, baptizing many souls to Christ.   As laymen, Michael & Denise Johnson and the End Times Team are committed to equipping God’s people for a finished work!
